The Journal of the African Language Teachers Association (JALTA), has recently welcomed new editors and a new editorial board, and is soliciting articles and/or book reviews for publication for its 2021 edition. JALTA is the official journal of the African Language Teachers Association (ALTA), and it serves the professional interests of teachers, researchers, and administrators of African languages in all settings and at all levels of instruction.


Our general editorial focus is on policy, education, programs, advocacy, and research in the field of African languages. Sub-themes are envisaged to cover (but are not limited to) these areas of African Languages scholarship:

a.Theoretical aspects such as linguistic, SLA, and pedagogical    conceptualizations

b.Methodology in research, teaching and administration of language instruction at    both K-12 and collegiate levels

c.Technology in the practice of African language pedagogy

d.Culture and broader societal issues, ranging from enhancing culture in language

e.Instruction to heritage communities

f.In-country and Study abroad programs

g.Advocacy in advancing LCTLs in collegial, community, state and federal initiatives and legislation in the USA and the world.

Manuscripts should be:

A maximum of 25 pages (excluding references, charts, notes, etc.) and submitted electronically via word or editable-document attachment.
Double-line spaced throughout, including notes, references, and tables, using 12-point Times New Roman font with a 1.5 inch left margin. (Please ensure that this specified formatting is followed).
Accompanied by a 150 word (or less) abstract and a cover sheet containing the manuscript title, name, address, office and home telephone numbers, fax number, e-mail address, and full names and institutions of each author. (Because the manuscript will be blind reviewed, identifying information should be on the cover sheet only, and not appear in the manuscript). 

Deadline for receipt of Paper is May 28, 2021
